Survive the Nazi invasion of New York as Codemasters® releases the Turning Point®: Fall of LibertyTM playable demo.
Fight afresh on a startlingly different battlefield as World War II comes to Manhattan.
Wednesday, 23rd January 2008 (11am UK Time) – Experience the explosive opening scenario from Turning Point®: Fall of Liberty™, the forthcoming alternate reality shooter from Spark Unlimited™, as Codemasters® announces the launch of the game’s playable demo, now available to download exclusively from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®.
Turning Point: Fall of Liberty opens as the sun rises over New York on a September morning in an altered vision 1953. Without warning, the undefeated Third Reich launch an explosive attack on the gateway to the United States and, sending a very clear message to the city, razes the Statue of Liberty in a devastating bombing run.
As this hell breaks out, the demo sees players assume the role of Dan Carson, a New York City construction engineer, at work on the girders of a skyscraper. The invasion intensifies and, as the skies fill with Zeppelins, jet aircraft and assault blimps, the skyscraper takes several direct hits. With the building collapsing around him, Carson must run for his life, dashing along girders, finding ladders or, as players head towards the lower levels, leaping from girder to girder to safety.
Players come face to face with the enemy as paratroopers descend on the building. Players can make use of Carson’s strength to grapple with opponents Krav Maga-style, disarming and dispatching them off the side of the building in dramatic environmental kills.
Survive the attack on New York in the Xbox 360 demo and then, as the fearsome German war machine occupies America and Europe, prepare for a World War II like no other in the full game, coming soon for the Xbox 360, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Games for Windows®. For the latest Turning Point: Fall of Liberty information, videos and community news, be sure to visit the official game website located at www.turningpointgame.com / www.codemasters.co.uk/turningpoint
Set in 1953, in the midst of an alternate reality where Nazi forces win World War II, Turning Point®: Fall of Liberty™ opens as the Third Reich launches a decimating attack on New York. Nazi battleships quickly take the harbour, monstrous Zeppelins fill the skies, jet aircraft execute bombing runs and, as armed paratroopers descend on to the streets, the city is taken block by block. With New York falling to pieces, and Washington D.C. in enemy sights, it’s time to fight afresh in a new battleground.
Developed by U.S. studio Spark Unlimited, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty will deliver an explosive F.P.S. experience in a world where famous locations and landmarks appear startlingly different under Nazi occupation. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty also presents a very personal battle for players. As Dan Carson – a reluctant New York City construction worker turned freedom fighter – gamers must survive the initial invasion before regrouping with other resistance members to take the fight back to the Nazis. Always outmanned and outgunned, players must use guerrilla tactics as they attempt to stop the world’s most notorious war machine.

About SAMURAI WARRIORS KATANA
Using an exhilarating first-person perspective, Samurai Warriors: KATANA is based on the hugely popular Samurai Warriors series and delivers total arcade-style action right into your own home. Armed with your motion-sensitive Wii Remote, you’ll journey back in time to do battle as a lethal samurai warrior.
On each mission, legendary samurai and allies will serve as your guide. Prevent pirates from invading your ships, rescue maidens from a burning castle, and explore mysterious caverns stalked by ninjas. These and many more challenging missions require quick reflexes, fast thinking, and precision marksmanship.
On the battlefield ninja assassins will be poised to strike at your every turn, but with close-range and long-range weapons, you’ll be well equipped for your counterattack. Combat gets up close and personal with the classic samurai sword, spear, and mighty war hammer, but you can still target enemy soldiers in the distance using a bow and arrow, a gun, and even a cannon.
Samurai Warriors: KATANA offers three different modes of play. Action-packed with nearly 30 hours of game play, Musou Mode takes you on an incredible adventure through Feudal Japan. Samurai-in-training can prepare for battle with a multitude of challenges in Trial Mode. Here you’ll earn gold which can be used to purchase weapons and precious items. And in Vs. Mode, you can go head-to-head with a friend in eight exciting mini games.

Wednesday 23rd January/…IGA Worldwide, Inc., the leading independent in-game advertising company, today announced a new and exclusive partnership with UK publisher CyberSports to place static and dynamic ads into its debut PC title, the massively-multiplayer online Football Superstars.
The first of it’s kind, MMO title Football Superstars is being developed for CyberSports by Monumental Games to recreate the game of football and its associated lifestyle, and will allow armchair football fanatics to train, play, compete and spend it like Beckham. Football Superstars puts you in control of one player rather than a whole team, allowing you to guide your player’s career from their first day at the training academy through to stardom as a key member of a premier club, as well as experiencing the fame, glory and lifestyle of a superstar footballer via a stunningly detailed and fully interactive virtual world.
The lifestyle element of this exciting new title will set it apart from other sports titles, whereas the football element will make it stand out from other persistent worlds. Players will be able to live the virtual life of a millionaire player, benefiting from all the perks of a super-rich-and-famous lifestyle.
Justin Townsend, CEO, IGA Worldwide, says:
“We are pleased to announce our partnership with CyberSports. Football Superstars features a genuinely unique approach to the MMO genre, as well as providing relevant and innovative opportunities for advertisers, from dynamically-updateable stadium ads and tournament sponsorships to fully interactive stores and even avatar clothing. The possibilities are almost endless, and attractive to a wide range of brands.”
Football Superstars is free-to-play, with all participants in the 3, 5, 7 or 11-a-side matches being human apart from the AI-controlled goal keepers. Gamers can interact with other players through headsets or in-game chat, and can form their own clubs, create private competitions or just relax with a friendly kick-about on the beach.
The deal between IGA and CyberSports provides a number of unique and varied in-game advertising opportunities throughout the game and virtual world including sponsorship elements, as well as options to reach gamers on the in-game video screens, football and team kit design.
Malcolm Clark, CEO of CyberSports, says:
The widespread advertising opportunities provided by Football Superstars means that we needed an experienced partner who understood our brand, as well as having the technology and infrastructure to handle the levels of unique users the game will generate on a global basis.”
The nature of Football Superstars’ open design enables opportunities for potential sponsors to go beyond the pitch, expanding into the virtual world of the football superstar’s clothing, accessories, stores, items, vehicles and electronics. Plus there are also generic opportunities that span the scope of the game, including the in-game mobile phone communication system interface and currency that could be tied into a credit card company or banking institution.
Football Superstars is due for release May 2008.
