141 Pieces Downed in Six Minutes at Press Event for Major League Eating: The Game for WiiWare

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - Apr 30, 2008 - Ingestion history has been made. Friday, April 11, 2008 professional eater, Tim ‘Eater X’ Janus, set the world sushi eating record with 141 pieces of sushi eaten in six minutes at a San Francisco press event to preview the upcoming WiiWare title, Major League Eating: The Game.

Mastiff, international publisher of videogames and interactive entertainment, under license of Major League Eating (MLE) and the International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE) has created Major League Eating: The Game, which will makes its debut as an exclusive on WiiWare^TM, Nintendo’s new downloadable game service for the Wii^TM console, which launches May 12 in North America. Third-party publisher Ubisoft on Monday hooked us up with a new teaser video for – well, we’ll let you decide. For now, the company isn’t commenting one way or the other about what the footage below represents, but we’ve got a few guesses and we think you will, too.

Behold, what looks to be a teaser video for what could be Rayman Raving Rabbids 3. The evil bunnies from the series are back and one in particular has discovered Nintendo’s Wii Balance Board, which comes packaged with Wii Fit on May 19 in America. After examining the board for a few moments, the critter bites it and then swallows it whole.

Now, we’re not too bright, but even we can take a stab at what this might imply – namely, that the next Rabbids game is sure to make use of the Wii Balance Board in some capacity. It’s certainly not an outlandish possibility. After all, in an IGN interview with NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime earlier this year, the executive stated that 10 games were already in development for the peripheral.

Nevertheless, Ubisoft has nothing official to say on the subject. But Wii owners might want to keep an eye out for the publisher’s forthcoming Ubidays event, scheduled to take place this May in France, where it will debut games in its 2008 lineup.
