Data Design Interactive - a successful video games publisher and games developer – today unveiled the box image and released some new screens from there forthcoming Nintendo Wii game BATTLE RAGE: THE ROBOT WARS is a third-person PC shooter and has been developed by Destan Entertainment and produced by Teyon Games.

BATTLE RAGE: THE ROBOT WARS the third person shooter with elements of a beat’em’up game that allows a player to control giant robots. Battles between the robots take place on carefully selected battlegrounds (so called “arenas”) and they are short, quick, brutal skirmishes. The player can fight alone (versus one, two or even three opponents) or in a team against a common foe. Every robot has its own weapons (for melee and distance combat), additional weapon types can be collected on the arena.

The player can modify a robot’s parameters in the single player mode as well as in the multiplayer to fit its possibilities to his/her own fighting style. Also many new, powerful robots will wait for the player to unlock in the story mode. The Tournament has begun.

The Story:

Exodus It all begun in 2036 with invention of The Drive. After nearly a century the humanity turned its eyes at the stars again. First the Moon and then Mars, so unwelcoming and mysterious, had to submit to mankind’s expansion. Space became swarmed with shiny hulls of ships. Cosmos turned into an obsession. It was an everyman’s dream to witness, at least once, extraterrestrial wonders. Whether it was the surface of the Silver Globe bruised with craters, or for many years, intriguing "human face” – Cydonia. The governments were competing with propaganda, promising the volunteers piles of gold and the glory of conquerors. Those who believed them mostly found tough, dangerous life and uncertain fate. However, they wouldn’t back off.

The Colonization Era has come.

Creation When you want to penetrate the mysteries of Cosmos you need more than just sheer determination. Quickly it turned out how much we are dependent on machines that we create. So we built more - each bigger and more advanced than the previous. We designed metal giants in our own image – Shells. We considered them the finest tools in the history of craftsmanship.

The Golden Age of humanity was to last forever.

The Fall Delighted with our creation, we disregarded teachings of history. After what happened, many theories that would allow us to prevent tragic events emerged. If we were that creative before, we might have saved thousands of innocent lives. We died instead, like the passengers of “Titanic”, driven by our vanity. Ironically, our greatest and most promising undertaking – “New Hope” – turned into a flaming tomb for countless individuals.

So began the end of Colonization Era.

Renaissance The "New Hope” incident deprived us of delusions, we were far from perfection. We turned our backs on our children. Where the luminous, glimmering cosmic cities once stood, heaps of junk laid – the only remnants left by Shells. The fall of such a great idea affected our whole society. Never before were criminal records that high. Boredom and resignation overcame us. It was when the Corporation emerged, finding a niche on the entertainment market. Who would have thought that few, cheaply bought wrecks of Shells and the ruins of an old factory would start a madness not weaker than that of a couple of years back. Several convicts were offered freedom and money if they were to fight and win in front of the TV cameras. Quickly they have become the true heroes of our bored society.

Video Game Captures the Intense Action-Adventure, Fantastic Creatures and Epic Locations of Upcoming Universal Pictures’ Supernatural Adventure Staring Brendan Fraser and Jet Li

MARLOW, UK (8th May, 2008) – Sierra Entertainment, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced the development of The Mummy™: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, a video game based on one of Summer 2008’s most highly anticipated movies from Universal Pictures. The game, which will mirror the fast-paced action and adventure depicted in the film, is being developed by Eurocom Studios for the Wii™ home video game console and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and by A2M for Nintendo DS™.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor game was created through a licensing agreement with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group.

In the third-person action-adventure game The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, players will take on the roles of Rick O’Connell and his son, Alex (played by Brendan Fraser and Luke Ford, respectively, in the film). Gamers will follow the lead characters on their harrowing journey - across exotic locations from ancient Chinese catacombs to beautiful, but dangerous, Himalayan peaks - to defeat the revived servants of the Dragon Emperor (Jet Li). The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor allows players to switch seamlessly between gunplay and hand-to-hand melee attacks, and also features a fast and fluid combat system and an arsenal of weaponry that can be used to vanquish the many bone-chilling enemies players will face during their journey. Fans of the upcoming Universal Pictures film, directed by Rob Cohen and set to hit cinemas this 1st August, will fight their way through The Mummy universe by utilising combat, puzzle-solving and hieroglyphic decoding gameplay elements.

At the recent London press conference for the forthcoming Speed Racer movie, Joel Silver, Producer, spoke about his and the Wachowski brothers’ involvement in the development of Speed Racer: The Videogame, giving direction and assets to the development team directly from their Berlin set.

“A lot of the assets of the movie were incorporated into that game.  I mean, these games are hugely successful, and these kids are seeing them and accepting a visual style that then can be translated to movies,” said Joel. “We’ve come a long way from Pong, so I think the games are getting more sophisticated, the technology is more advanced and every year there’s something that we’ve never seen before. And there’s a lot of blending of movies and gaming, and movies are coming from games, and games are coming from movies. It’s just an exciting time. I mean, the boys [the Wachowski brothers] play everything. I mean, they like to play games, and I don’t know which one’s inspired which; I’ll ask them. But they sit around all day when they’re between takes sometimes playing games. And I think that’s part of their inspiration.”

Speed Racer: The Videogame, published by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, will be available on Nintendo Wii and DS on Friday 9th May
